I have decided to self-publish my book; here’s why:

Just like every other aspiring author, I also dreamt of publishing my books and becoming a celebrated author all across the globe. But once you enter this field, you realize just how many obstacles you have to go through.

First, you must edit your book, find an agent who would love it just as much as you. Edit some more. Then by some miracle (I still haven’t seen that miracle yet) you sign a contract with the agent. You edit some more. You reach out to publishers. Once you get accepted, that is when your book is truly in the process of being published. Some people find an agent but their book never gets accepted by publishers. So, publishing a book is an exceptionally long and a tedious process. The other way, self – publishing, is much more easier, meaning you get your book published within days if you want, but you have to market it all by yourself.

I have tried the former method, and after receiving rejection after rejection, I shelved my debut novel (MD) and started polishing a new one (Project Swords). Project swords is still being queried and I will not stop doing that, but in the meanwhile, I will edit MD, maybe even gather some early readers and self publish it. As an artist, I can design my own cover and then it’ll just be the marketing where I’ll truly have to push myself. I’ll have to do it properly to gather readers, and I’ve seen that it truly works.

So, now for the exciting stuff! The book will come out on 20 November IA. The cover will be revealed exactly a month before, so 20 October. I will add some exciting prints or bookmarks for those who preorder. Keychains  as well maybe?
